Death Valley National Park is more than 3 million acres of desert scenery. It is the lowest, hottest, driest place in North America. The lowest point is 282 feet below sea level at Badwater. The hottest temperature was recorded in 1913 at 134 degrees. The average rainfall is less than 2 inches. The spring bloom of wildflowers is short and spectacular. Spring rain storms are few and far between. Two of many great places to photograph are Zabriskie Point and the Sand Dunes. |
