|Spring turns the
hills in Northern California a bright green. I keep an eye to the skies
looking for the "cotton ball" clouds to tumble in from the hills above
Berkeley. Green hills, blue skies, pretty clouds, and on this day a single
cow. The cow adds a special ingredient. It gives scale to the picture and
makes a statement.
Sometimes less is
more when composing a picture. The lone cow at the top of the hill becomes
the focal point of the picture. He stands alone on top of his hill. The
cow seems so small next to the big cloud and the open spaces. I waited
patiently until the cloud moved into position for a composition I liked.
I used a 2 stop soft edge neutral gradient filter to enhance the blue sky.
